The rules and or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the conditions of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATION OF, OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant or spectator or official. The minimum requirements set forth may change at the discretion of the management of Madras Speedway Inc.
General Rules for all Participants
The rules apply to each and every driver, mechanic and/or pit personnel. You are expected to know the rules. Ignorance of the rules will not be tolerated as an excuse.
All race and pit crew must sign a release upon entering the pit area. Pit pass to be openly displayed on wrist.
Madras Speedway officials reserve the right to reject or disallow entry of any driver or other individuals for any reason.
Due to insurance regulations ATV's will not be allowed in the pit area without proof of insurance. Passengers not allowed on ATV's
In the event a race is canceled, it is considered a completed race if all the heat races have been run.
If rain checks are given to the spectators, all racing events, monies and points will be voided for the night. Wristbands must be kept by the drivers and pit crews and pit spectators to re-enter pit area if a rain out occurs. There will be no exceptions. If your rain out band is lost you will purchase another one.
No refunds will be made after entry.
Due to curfew, no excessive noise after 11:00 p.m.
All line-ups will be posted on the line-up board near the concessions in the pit area. The drivers are responsible for making it to the line-up in time for their race.
All car numbers must stand out. These numbers must be at least 18" high and 3" wide on both doors and roof. (Sprints must be on tank and both sides of top wing). Number must in a color contrasting with the body color. If the number is not legible from the scoring tower the car/truck will not be scored. NO CHROME/SPRAY PAINTED NUMBERS
All vehicles must be removed from speedway property by 11:00 pm Sunday after the race.
The Speedway assumes no responsibility for damage or loss of your racing or non-racing equipment, vehicle, or any parts, i.e. tow rig, trailer, car etc. by any means whatsoever.
Due to insurance, a race car is not permitted to leave the pit area unless on a trailer. No person shall be permitted to ride on the outside of a race car, tow vehicle or trailer at any time.
Officials will establish the race event procedures, starting positions, length, frequency and administration of all events and programs. The race may be shortened due to time allotted or weather.
Eligibility of Participants
All drivers must be a minimum of 16 years of age (except Jr's that age is 12 years). Any driver under the age of 18 years of age must have a properly executed parental consent form signed and notarized for admission to an event.
The car/truck that the driver signs up to drive for that evening at the pit gate is the car he/she will run for the night. There is no switching of drivers after you sign the waiver, UNLESS you have made other arrangements at the pit gate. There will be no switching cars. Points are accumulated by the car/truck not the driver. Except for the Jr's points go the driver. ONE CAR - ONE CLASS - Exception to this rule are the JR's who are sharing a car that is in the Sportsman class.
Anyone entering the pits under the age of 18 years old must have a signed consent form before entering.
General Track Rules
Top five cars in the Late Models, Sportsman, Mini Trucks, Modifieds and Juniors MUST weigh in after your main event. ANYONE not crossing the scales immediately after their race will be DISQUALIFIED. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
All drivers must attend the mandatory drivers meeting or you will forfeit your starting position.
All Sportsman, Jr's and Mini Trucks must participate in wheel packing when called to do so or you will forfeit your starting position.
No racing to the yellow flag. Line-up will revert to the last completed lap.
Any car/truck or cars/trucks causing or considered involved in a yellow flag will go to the rear of the field. This includes the start of the race. You do not get your spot back for the restart. After 2 yellow flags, you will be BLACK FLAGGED.
Any car/truck observed to be operating in a manner hazardous to other cars/trucks may be black flagged.
If correct line-up is not achieved after 2 laps under yellow, yellow flag laps will then be counted as racing laps.
Under NO EXCEPTIONS will anyone other than track officials be allowed on the track during a yellow flag.
All starts will be started at turn #4 cone.
The front row inside car sets the pace.
No jack-rabbit or slow-and-go starts will be permitted by pole position car. Violations of this rule will put the pole car at the back of the starting field.
2 attempts at a start per event/single file restart after that.
Stay in single file order under yellow flag/NO passing on restart until you are past turn #4 cone/any passing of cars before turn #4 cone will result in being set back 2 positions for every 1 position gained.
Any car/truck using the infield area to gain positions or causing extreme dust will be BLACK FLAGGED
Cars may re-enter the race under green ONLY when the race official gives the clearance to do so. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL SPRINTS ENTER THE TRACK UNDER GREEN
Any car/truck that exits the track will go to the rear of the field upon re-entering
Any car/truck exiting the track through the entrance of the track will be DISQUALIFIED.
All cars must stop as quickly as possible when the red flag is displayed.
On a red flag, if you block the entrance to the track for emergency vehicles you will be DISQUALIFIED
On a red flag track is closed until race official gives the OK to enter.
Any driver stopping on the racing surface to argue with an Official, in regards to an Officials decision, will be automatically disqualified from the event.
Radios in cars/trucks are not permitted.
No mirrors allowed.
RULES OF CONDUCT
The driver is responsible for all pit crew members.
Any fighting or reckless driving in the pit area may subject the offender to suspension contingent upon the seriousness of the incident. Any continuing problems from the same individual may result in season long or permanent suspension.
STAY IN YOUR OWN PITS! ANY DRIVER OR CREW MEMBER THAT GOES INTO SOMEONE ELSE'S PITS YELLING OR WITH ANY KIND OF AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!! YOUR CAR WILL BE LOADED AND YOU WILL NEED TO LEAVE THE RACE TRACK PREMISES.
The announcer/scorers booth and flag stand are off limits to all participants, car owners, pit crews, families and fans at all times unless permission has been granted.
Any participant touching an official in anger shall be suspended from the premises. You will not be allowed to re-enter the grandstand area.
Verbal abuse to any official/employee is subject to suspension of the guilty person or persons involved and will not be tolerated at any time.
Profanity in front of race fans, officials, management and profane signs on cars etc. will not be tolerated and may subject you to suspension.
Un-sportsman like conduct will not be tolerated. You must stay in your car at all times unless there is a fire. This can result in being disqualified for the night.
The consumption or distribution of any alcoholic beverage or controlled substance at any time in the pit area is strictly prohibited. By entering the restricted pit area, all participants agree to accept this policy and procedure.
NO SPEEDING IN THE PIT AREA AT ANY TIME YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED
OFFICIALS DECISION WILL BE FINAL AT ALL TIMES
Payout
To receive a payout in any class, there must be a minimum of 5 cars entered otherwise you will receive a trophy. The Jr class does not receive a payout however all entrants will receive a trophy.
Point System
You must complete all heat race laps to receive points. You must complete all dash laps to receive your points. You must complete 1 lap in the main event to be scored. Jr's must race a minimum of 5 races to compete in points
Rookie of the year
If you are competing for Rookie of the year and you run more than 3 races in your division in any year, you are not eligible to compete for Rookie of the year in the future. In order to compete for Rookie of the year, you must compete in all events yourself. If you have a substitute driver at any time you will not receive rookie points for that event.
